Practical & Powerful Praying

August 30 – October 4

Prayer is a central discipline for a Christian to grow and receive from the Lord, but most of us struggle with the practical working of prayer in our everyday lives. Prayer is the vehicle God has given us to change things around us, move God’s heart, and facilitate change in ourselves. When we are not intentional in our prayer lives, we don’t grow at the rate we are capable of, nor are we as effective in our service to others. In this class, we are going to talk about how to structure a regular prayer time with the Lord, as well as practice praying as a part of everyday life. We will learn how to approach God in worship, pray different kinds of prayers, pray and memorize scripture, pray in power, as well as how to remain “free” in our praying.

Dates: Sundays. August 30-October 4<
Time: 10:00 – 11:15 A.M.
Location: Chapel (EXCEPTION – Oct 4 is in Room 200)
Cost: $10

Celebration of Discipline

July 12 – August 16 | 10:00-11:15 a.m.

For six weeks, we are going to dig into this classic text by Richard Foster and learn about the spiritual disciplines. We will be talking about how the spiritual disciplines can liberate you in your Christian walk and set you on a pathway to continuous growth as a believer. The book is divided into three parts: The Inward Disciplines, the Outward Disciplines, and the Corporate Disciplines. We will define each discipline, offer practical instruction, and assign weekly readings and practices as we work our way through each chapter. Every follower of Jesus should understand these core disciplines and be able to practice them, so if you are looking to go deeper in your walk with the Lord, this class is for you.

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
